ELMHURST –  William and Carol Parrillo recently made an extraordinary gift to the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Exceptional Past, Extraordinary Future campaign. Mr. Parrillo is Chairman and President of Safeway Insurance Company headquartered in Westmont, Illinois. In recognition of this generous gift, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare leadership has named the world-class Elmhurst Memorial Center for Health the William and Carol Parrillo building. New exterior signage will be installed to reflect the building’s new name.

“Carol and I are pleased to leave a legacy for our children and grandchildren, and what better way than to support Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare, which will continue to serve the community for decades to come,” said William Parrillo.

“It is the vision, generosity and commitment of people such as William and Carol Parrillo that inspire others to support our cause and be part of our history,” said Mary Ann Malloy, M.D., Campaign Co-Chair, internal medicine physician and member of the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Medical Staff. “We are very fortunate to have strong and passionate donors who share our vision of advancing the heart and science of healthcare.”

The Center for Health, located on the corner of York and Roosevelt roads in Elmhurst, opened in 1999 and has since transformed the way outpatient care is delivered to patients throughout the community. The Center offers a unique setting for physician practices and outpatient healthcare services — all in one beautiful, convenient location. The ground floor of this 178,000-square-foot, four-story outpatient facility includes an immediate care center that is open 365 days a year, a comprehensive ambulatory and diagnostic testing and treatment area, outpatient surgery suite, pharmacy, optical shop, gift shop and café. Upper levels contain physician office suites, with the Elmhurst Clinic occupying the entire second floor. More than 3,500 visitors pass through its doors every day, including patients, their families, physicians, staff and volunteers.

“On behalf of the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees and the leadership of the healthcare system, I extend our deepest gratitude to William and Carol Parrillo for their unprecedented gift to our organization. It is truly an honor to be the recipient of their dedication and support of community healthcare,” said Leo F. Fronza, President and CEO of Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare.

To date, funds raised for the Exceptional Past, Extraordinary Future campaign total more than $19 million.
