ELMHURST – Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare (EMHC) reached a significant milestone in the redevelopment of its Addison Health Center when the Addison Village Board unanimously approved the plan to construct a new facility.
During its June 7 meeting, the Addison Village Board OKd plans to build a new 55,000-square-foot facility on the same property as the current building at 303 W. Lake Street.
The new facility will include enhanced services such as more physician office space, expanded laboratory services, radiology and immediate care. During construction of the new building, the current facility will remain open.
EMHC is now scheduled to appear before the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board in late July to request the Certificate of Need for the project. Construction will begin after all of the necessary public approvals have been secured and will last for approximately one year.
“We would like to express our appreciation to the leaders of the Village of Addison and Addison School District #4,” said Leo Fronza, EMHC president and chief executive officer. “This process was a cooperative effort that will benefit the community for years to come.”
