Elmhurst Clinic Begins Proactive Patient Outreach

Have you ever forgotten to schedule your annual physical? If you're diabetic, have you ever fallen behind on getting your glucose levels checked? With vaccinations, immunizations and health screenings to track, the task of keeping up with recommended appointments can be overwhelming.

The Elmhurst Clinic understands. It's easy to simply forget to schedule follow-up appointments or check-ups because of your busy life. We now have a dedicated system that identifies patients who are overdue for preventive and chronic disease services. The system will automatically contact you, and let you know that you should call the office to schedule an appointment.

This is just another way we’re making healthcare fit your life.

Wood Dale and Addison Locations Offer Same Day Visits

As a premier multispecialty medical group, the Elmhurst Clinic prides itself on providing care that goes above and beyond patient expectations. One of the ways the Clinic exceeds expectations is through same-day appointment availability. Whenever possible, patients who are sick will be seen by Clinic physicians the same day they call for an appointment.

The Wood Dale office is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 8 p.m., every Saturday until noon and two Saturdays a month until 4 p.m.

Hospitalist Program

Your primary care physician has elected to separate inpatient (hospital)
care from outpatient (office) care. While you are hospitalized at Elmhurst
Memorial Hospital, one of the Elmhurst Clinic inpatient internists (or
hospitalists) will attend to your medical care. The hospitalists are in constant
communication with your primary care physician and have access to all of your
medical records.

What is a hospitalist?
Hospitalists are physicians whose primary professional focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients. Their day consists of admitting, rounding, managing, discharging and consulting for hospitalized patients of the Elmhurst Clinic physicians. They have a consistent presence in the hospital, allowing other Clinic physicians to spend more time seeing patients in their office.

What are the benefits of a hospitalist?
By focusing his/ her practice on the care of hospitalized patients, a hospitalist can gain a great deal of experience in the unique aspects of your needs during your hospital stay. Hospitalists typically spend most or all of their day in the hospital, and are more readily available to you.
